Di Gao is a knitwear designer whose work combines textile experimentation, sculptural form, and technical craftsmanship. Moving between fashion collections and independent creative projects, Di explores the expressive possibilities of knitwear through material, texture, and construction.

Di holds an MFA in Fashion Design and Society from Parsons School of Design and a BFA in Fashion Design from Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. This foundation informs a practice that connects conceptual exploration with hands-on making.

Di’s professional experience includes an Associate Knitwear Designer role at Thom Browne, working across men’s and women’s collections, runway projects, and cold-weather accessories. Previous experience includes knitwear design at Centric Brands, freelance roles with Coach and Kate Spade, and design internships at Alexander Wang and Derek Lam. From research and swatch development to fittings and production, Di brings both creative sensitivity and technical precision to the design process.

Alongside industry work, Di maintains an independent practice through collections, runway presentations, and exhibitions. Selected presentations include a solo exhibition at Accent Sisters in 2024, a group exhibition at :iidrr gallery in 2023, and a fashion show at China Institute in America in 2024. Di was a finalist in International Talent Support (ITS) and received the Flying Solo x Parsons Award in 2018.
